Digital financial services provider,Moniepoint Inc, has announced the opening of applications for the 2026 edition of its Women in Tech internship programme, as part of efforts to deepen female participation in Nigeria’s technology ecosystem.
Now in its sixth year, the programme is themed “There Is Space for You,” a campaign the company says is designed to encourage women across the country with talent and ambition, but limited access, to take up opportunities in the tech sector.
Moniepoint noted that despite progress in recent years, women account for only about 25 percent of Nigeria’s tech workforce, even though they make up nearly half of the population and contribute about 22 per cent of annual STEM graduates.
The firm said its Women in Tech initiative has, over the past five years, focused on bridging this gap by creating access and pathways for women to build careers in technology.
Building on the success of last year’s “Dream 15” cohort, the 2026 edition will offer expanded roles across key areas including Cloud Engineering, Frontend and Backend Engineering, Data Engineering, Systems Administration, Product Management, Information Security, Mobile Engineering, and Site Reliability Engineering.
According to the company, successful applicants will receive competitive remuneration, work tools, branded merchandise, and mentorship from experienced professionals, with top-performing interns considered for full-time employment.
Speaking on the initiative, Head of People Operations at Moniepoint Inc., Chinaza Nduka-Dike, said the programme goes beyond advocacy to creating real opportunities.
“With the Women in Tech programme, we are not just inspiring inclusion, we are actively creating sustainable pathways for women to thrive in the tech industry. There is space for the next generation, and we are ready for them,” she said.
She added that alumni of the programme have gone on to contribute significantly within the company and the broader tech ecosystem.
Applications for the programme open March 30, 2026, and are available to women across Nigeria seeking to start or transition into careers in technology.
