The NdIgbo for Tinubu 2027 Forum (NDI-ABAT) has responded to recent comments by former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, regarding the 2027 presidential election.
Obi, who spoke during a radio interview in Aba, had expressed concerns about factors affecting his political prospects within the opposition.
In a statement issued on Sunday, NDI-ABAT said it holds a different view, noting that political developments ahead of elections are often shaped by multiple factors, including party processes and internal dynamics.
The group emphasised that the emergence of candidates in any political party is typically determined through established procedures and consultations among stakeholders.
While acknowledging Obi’s right to participate in the political process, the forum encouraged continued engagement within party structures as preparations for the 2027 elections evolve.
NDI-ABAT also noted that political alignments and discussions across parties remain ongoing as stakeholders position themselves ahead of the next general election.
