Nigerian singer-songwriter Halver has officially announced his return to the music scene, months after a widely publicised decision to step away from the industry in early 2026. His new single, Not For All (Alcohol), signals both a personal and artistic rebirth for the Port Harcourt-born talent.
Halver’s temporary exit followed a challenging period in late 2025, when, despite gaining traction with his single Trabaye, he reached what he described as a breaking point. The pressures associated with being an independent artist, combined with the emotional demands of the industry, prompted his decision to take a hiatus—an announcement that quickly sparked conversations across Nigeria’s creative community about mental health and artist wellbeing.
Now, with renewed clarity and purpose, the singer returns with Not For All (Alcohol), a track that reflects his evolution. The single stands out as a bold sonic statement, blending his distinctive melodic style with introspective themes centred on vulnerability, resilience, and the often-unspoken internal struggles that accompany rising fame.
“I had to lose my voice to find my purpose,” says Halver. “This song isn’t just a comeback; it’s a thank you to the fans who refused to let me quit.”
The release not only marks Halver’s comeback but also underscores a broader narrative of healing and self-discovery, positioning him as one of the emerging voices willing to address deeper realities within the music industry.
Not For All (Alcohol) is now available on all major streaming platforms, as Halver steps back into the spotlight with renewed energy and a more defined artistic vision.
