The Head of Schools, Starfield Group of Schools, Mrs Juliana Eigbe, has said holistic education is not limited to the classroom setting, but that it nurtures learners holistically.
She stated this during the 12th Biennial Inter-House Sports competition of the school held at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
This, according to her, is the thrust and focus of the management and staff of the schools.
The Inter-House Sports competition involved pupils and students from both the primary and college arms.
“Today is not just a celebration of competition and colours, it is a celebration of holistic education. At Starfield College, we believe firmly that true education goes beyond the classroom. It must deliberately nurture the cognitive, effective and psychomotor domains of every child’s development.
“To our esteemed parents, we assure you that your children are in an environment where the mind is challenged, character is moulded and physical abilities are developed. This commitment is reflected in the deliberate steps the school continues to take in broadening sporting and intellectual opportunities for our learners,” she said.
She added that the school has launched a football academy designed to nurture young talents with great footballing potential.
The Guest of Honour, Mrs Ashimi Kafilat, opined that sports foster unity, healthy competition and character formation among young ones.
She commended the management and staff for their efforts and urged the learners to compete fairly.
The Principal of the college, Mrs Sara Oyinloye, in her closing remark, said the occasion was a celebration of talents.
“We have also seen beautiful camaraderie between school officials and parents, all working together with one shared purpose – the growth and success of our children. It is our sincere hope that we all carry these positive gains, lessons and relationships back to.our various abodes and allow them to flourish,” she stated.

At the primary school level, White House was first, Red House second and Blue House third.
