The Kaduna State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has rejected claims of a so-called “Transitional Leadership Team” purportedly holding meetings ahead of the party’s upcoming congresses, describing the group as unauthorized and not recognized under the party’s constitution.

In a statement signed by State Publicity Secretary Engr. Idris Musa, the party emphasized that it operates strictly according to its constitution, which recognizes only duly constituted organs.

“The Kaduna State Working Committee (SWC), led by Chairman Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha, remains the only legitimate leadership recognized by the party’s national leadership and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC),” the statement said.

The party stressed that the SWC retains full authority over all party activities, including the organization and conduct of congresses, and is working closely with the National Working Committee (NWC) to ensure that ward, local government, and state congresses are conducted transparently and credibly.

The ADC urged members and the public to engage only with recognized party organs and officials, reaffirming its commitment to internal democracy and a congress process that reflects the will of its members in line with the party’s constitution.
