The Musawah for Youth and Development Initiative on Tuesday inaugurated 92 local government officials across Kaduna State, describing the movement as a platform for inclusive governance and youth-driven development.

Speaking at the event at the Musawah headquarters in Kaduna, National Coordinator Polycarp D. Gankon said the inauguration in 23 local government areas marks a significant milestone for the initiative’s expansion and grassroots mobilization.

He noted that further structures are planned at the ward level, with each ward expected to have nine officials, including desk officers and focal persons, to strengthen engagement at the grassroots.

Gankon explained that the initiative draws inspiration from the leadership philosophy of Christopher Gwabin Musa, emphasizing inclusive governance, youth empowerment, and issue-based politics.

“You are the torchbearers of this vision in your respective communities. Your role is vital in mobilizing the youth and ensuring that the message of progress resonates with every citizen,” he said.

The coordinator also reaffirmed the group’s support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, highlighting the importance of collaboration in advancing development and security in the state and nation.

He urged members to uphold the initiative’s motto, “Musawah Initiative — Home for All; Gidan Kowa,” as a rallying point for unity, inclusiveness, and collective progress.

The event included sensitization sessions and the formal inauguration of zonal and local government executives, with participants pledging commitment to the ideals of the initiative.
