A group of former students of Offor Comprehensive Secondary School in Delta State has unveiled an educational initiative aimed at revitalising learning and promoting community development in Ekuku-Agbor.
The association, known as Offor Elites, is made up of members of the school’s 2006/2007 graduating set. The group said the initiative is designed to nurture younger generations into responsible ambassadors of the state and the nation.
At the formal unveiling, the group outlined a multi-faceted plan focused on improving infrastructure, inspiring current students, and strengthening alumni engagement with their alma mater.
President of the group, Stanley Brown, said the project reflects a long-standing commitment by members to give back to the institution that shaped them.
“The bond we built at Offor Comprehensive Secondary School remains strong nearly two decades later. This initiative is about giving back to the school that shaped us and to the students who will follow,” he said.
Brown explained that the development programme would focus on key areas, including classroom renovation, provision of learning materials, and mentorship programmes to guide students in their academic and career pursuits.
In a statement issued after the event by the group’s Public Relations Officer, Freddo Perry, the association disclosed plans to sustain the initiative through annual reunions and fundraising activities.
The group also called on community leaders and corporate organisations to support the project, stressing that collective efforts are essential to expanding opportunities for students and improving educational outcomes in Delta State.
