Godspower Chukwudi Ekpoluonye, a proud indigene of Delta State, has strongly condemned the recent attacks on women during the Alue-Do Festival in Ozoro.

In a statement, the ambassador expressed shock and sadness over reports that some youths committed criminal acts against women, stressing that no cultural practice should ever justify violence or abuse.

Following consultations with clergy and traditional rulers, Ekpoluonye described the attacks as a betrayal of Delta State’s rich cultural heritage and moral values, emphasizing that culture should protect and unite people rather than harm them.

He called on youths to embrace responsibility, uphold moral standards, and warned that reckless actions tarnish community image and harm social cohesion. The ambassador also urged government and law enforcement agencies to investigate the incidents and ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice while victims receive adequate support.

Closing his statement, Ekpoluonye appealed to leaders, youths, and community members to unite in promoting peace, safeguarding human rights, and preserving cultural values that uphold the dignity and safety of all individuals in Delta State.
