As the 2026 Ramadan draws to a close, the Giant Wise Men of Yewaland (G-15) has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Ogun State and Nigeria, urging them to sustain the spiritual virtues imbibed during the holy month.
In a statement jointly signed by the Secretary, Akinyemi Michael, and the President, Idowu Ayomide Joseph, the group commended Muslims for their sacrifice, perseverance and devotion throughout the 30-day fasting period.
The group stressed that adherence to moral values remains vital to national development, warning against a relapse into practices inconsistent with the teachings of Ramadan.
“The lessons of this festival are that we must have absolute and sustained belief and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, give charity and love our neighbours,” the statement read.
The group further called on Muslims to utilise the Eid-el-Fitr celebration to seek divine guidance and offer prayers for leaders at both state and national levels.
According to the group, many of the nation’s challenges, including insecurity and corruption, are rooted in a lack of accountability, noting that renewed commitment to God-consciousness remains key to fostering unity and progress across ethnic and religious divides.
The group also commended political leaders for their contributions to the development of Ogun West and Yewaland.
It specifically lauded Governor Dapo Abiodun and Senator Olamilekan Adeola for what it described as their developmental strides. It also applauded other stakeholders, including Gboyega Isiaka, Wahab Aruna Egungbohun, and the Chairman of Yewa North Local Government, Olusola Akinbode, for their commitment to grassroots development.
It equally appreciated traditional rulers across Yewaland for promoting unity and supporting developmental initiatives within their domains.
In the same vein, the group expressed gratitude to Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun for his generosity towards youths in the region, praying for continued blessings upon him and his family.
Reaffirming its commitment to the progress of the region, the group pledged to continue promoting unity, development and moral consciousness in Yewaland and beyond.
