Kenneth Martins promotes integrated energy model to address Nigeria’s power needs

Discussions around Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector often focus on supply shortages, price volatility, and distribution challenges.

However, Kenneth Martins, CEO of Wavy Energy Limited, believes a broader transformation is underway in how energy services are delivered in the country.

Martins said the industry is shifting from a product-centric approach to a model focused on integrated energy solutions. “In the past, energy companies focused primarily on selling products. But the sector is gradually moving toward providing coordinated energy solutions,” he noted.

Through Wavy Energy, Martins is advancing a model that combines petroleum supply, gas infrastructure development, and solar energy deployment. This integrated approach allows businesses and organisations to manage multiple energy needs within a single framework, ensuring continuity and efficiency.

“Businesses cannot afford energy disruption,” Martins said. “The role of energy providers is increasingly to ensure that supply systems, infrastructure, and energy technologies work together effectively.”

He added that companies capable of combining logistics, engineering expertise, and long-term operational accountability will define the future of Nigeria’s energy sector. “The future of the sector will belong to companies that approach energy not just as a commodity, but as an integrated service,” he said.

Martins’ vision reflects a growing trend in Nigeria toward diversified energy solutions that can meet the evolving power demands of businesses and the broader economy.
