UMUAHIA – PEOPLES Democratic Party, PDP, Abia State chapter, has lauded the peace and security in the state, saying the situation has enabled the Theodore Orji administration to lay solid foundation for development of the state.

The State PDP which spoke through the Deputy Chairman of the party, Chief Allen Nwachukwu, noted that the prevalent peace was brought about by Governor Orji’s ability to rally together stakeholders in the state towards the development of Abia State.

According to him, “the existing peace and security have enabled Governor Orji to accomplish what even his enemies never expected within the first year of his second term.”

He spoke of the impact the government had made on the people in Abia South, specifically Osisioma council area and urged the people to continue to support the government, saying that more good things would come their way.

Meanwhile, Abia State government has hinted that the  Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, would soon resume pumping of petroleum products at the Osisioma depot, near Aba, the commercial city of the state.
Already, soldiers from the Army Engineers Department have cleared the right of way of the pipelines to the depot.

Also, a Special Military Squad has been deployed to guide the pipelines with strict instruction “to treat any person seen along or around the pipelines as a common criminal whose intention is to recommence the criminality of pipeline vandalization and illegal scooping of petroleum products”.
