The Kogi State Government has reiterated its commitment to deepening youth inclusion in governance and expanding opportunities for young people across the state.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, made this known while receiving the leadership of the North Central Reform Youth Assembly (NCRYA) in his office in Lokoja.
Anyebe said the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has deliberately positioned young people at the centre of governance, noting that over 75 per cent of appointees under the current dispensation are youths.
According to him, the government will continue to design and implement programmes that promote youth development, empowerment and active participation in decision-making processes.
“The present administration is youth-driven and youth-focused. What we seek in return is the continued support, cooperation and prayers of young people to enable government deliver on its mandate,” he said.
He assured the delegation of the ministry’s readiness to sustain partnerships with youth organisations whose ideas align with the broader goal of youth emancipation and socio-economic growth.
The commissioner commended the NCRYA for the visit and expressed optimism about working closely with the group to achieve shared objectives.
Earlier, the National Financial Secretary of the Assembly, Ambassador Rachael Mojirola Balogun, said their visit was to seek stronger collaboration with the state government, particularly in the area of youth-focused programmes.
She appealed to the administration to carry the organisation along in its developmental initiatives, while also expressing appreciation to the governor for appointing Anyebe, whom she described as a youth-friendly leader.
In the same vein, the Kogi State Coordinator of the Assembly, Engr. Kolawole Miracle Mustapha, pledged the group’s loyalty to the government and its commitment to supporting the administration’s agenda for growth and development.
