A prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and former gubernatorial Aspirant, Dr. Ali Adamu Tikau has dumped his Party and officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The event took place at his electoral ward in Tikau town, Nangere Local Government Area on Monday, where Dr. Tikau made the announcement surrounded by teaming supporters and party members.

Dr. Tikau, a former Executive Secretary of the National Primary Education Commission and a governorship aspirant in both the 2011 and 2023 general elections, symbolically handed over his PDP membership card to Samaila Jalamawa, the Chairman of the PDP in Tikau ward, along with the Secretary.

Immediately following this gesture, he embraced his new affiliation with the ADC, receiving his membership card from the ADC Chairman’s Representative, Babangida Dagare, along with support from Youth Leader, Ali Garba Tikau, Organizing Secretary, Salisu Ibrahim, and Adamu Hassan, all of Tikau ward.

In a statement to newsmen after his transition, Dr. Tikau expressed his commitment to the ADC and the collective decision made with his supporters.

“After serving the PDP peacefully for years, we have decided to join the ADC for the overall development of our people. We are determined to put in our best to ensure the success of the ADC in the 2027 general a at all levels.” Dr. Tikau stated.

This move marks a notable moment in the political landscape of Yobe state, as Dr. Tikau’s decision reflects the evolving dynamics within local politics and the pursuit of better governance. End
