ABUJA — Stakeholders from the Cross River North Senatorial District resident in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Bassey Edet Otu, and Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe for re-election in the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement was announced at a rally held in Abuja on Saturday, where political leaders, professionals and community stakeholders drawn from across party lines expressed continued support for the trio, citing their leadership performance and developmental strides.

Convener of the rally, Major Obi Odu (retd.), described the gathering as a fulfilment of a collective resolve to support Senator Jarigbe, whom he said had recorded achievements that surpassed those of some governors who spent eight years in office.

According to him, there was no moral justification not to endorse the senator for another term.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the rally and read by the Liaison Officer to the Cross River State Governor to the House of Assembly, Hon. Cynthia Nkasi, the stakeholders said their decision followed a review of governance under the three leaders and the evolving political landscape in the country.

The group commended Jarigbe for what it described as his “selfless political movement and integration” into the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting that the move had helped position Cross River North to benefit more from both the state and federal governments.

According to the communiqué, the stakeholders expressed satisfaction with the senator’s representation at the National Assembly, praising his commitment to delivering broad-based and quality representation for the district.

They also acknowledged his role in facilitating development projects across communities in the Northern Senatorial District, as well as initiatives aimed at empowering youths through education.

The group highlighted the senator’s facilitation of scholarships, employment opportunities for indigenes of the district, overseas educational placements for young people and the Jari Bursary Scheme.

“Since his election as senator representing the Northern Senatorial District, the zone has gained remarkable political visibility and recognition,” the communiqué stated.

The stakeholders urged Jarigbe to seek re-election to enable him continue what they described as effective representation of the people.

They also commended Governor Otu for the developmental strides of his administration, particularly the continuation and completion of projects initiated by previous governments in the northern part of the state.

The group further acknowledged the economic reforms introduced by the Federal Government under President Tinubu, describing them as bold measures aimed at repositioning the Nigerian economy.

Consequently, the stakeholders unanimously endorsed Jarigbe for another term in the Senate, Otu for a second term as governor of Cross River State, and Tinubu for re-election in 2027.

They also pledged to mobilise support across communities, groups and associations within the Cross River North Senatorial District to ensure victory for the trio and other candidates of the APC in the next general elections.

Several prominent figures spoke at the rally, including Ambassador Akpang Obi Odu, Ntufam Fidelis Ugbo, Barrister Fidel Bisong Osang, Chief Peter Ojie, Hon. Martins Martin Orim, Dr. Dornclaimz Enamhe, Hon. Thomas Agi, Rt. Hon. Regina Anyogo, Chief Austin Edibe, Hon. Gabriel Bravo Oluohu and RoyJones Akpak.

Speaking on behalf of the organisers, the rally coordinator, Papa DC Enamhe, said the gathering was convened to appreciate President Tinubu for policies and projects which, according to him, had benefited Cross River State, including ongoing federal infrastructure initiatives.
