…Urges Acceleration of Key Ijaw Projects

The Ijaw National Congress has praised Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his infrastructural and developmental initiatives across the state.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Ezonebi Oyakemeagbegha, the INC highlighted that within approximately three years of Governor Oborevwori’s tenure, significant projects such as the PTI and Ughelli flyovers, as well as the dualization of the Ughelli-Asaba road, have transformed the state’s infrastructure landscape.

The INC also commended the governor for approving the construction of the Torugbene-Ojobo road and other initiatives in Ijaw communities, while urging him to expedite work on the road and the Ayakoromo bridge to improve connectivity.

“Governor Oborevwori has done well for Delta State. His flyovers, bridges, and dualization projects, particularly the DSC Effurun and Ughelli flyovers, as well as the Ughelli-Asaba road, are signature projects demonstrating his commitment to development,” the statement read.

The INC further emphasized that completing the Torugbene-Ojobo road and the Ayakoromo bridge will not only open up the hinterlands of Burutu Local Government Area but also enhance access to the state’s blue economy potentials.

Chief Oyakemeagbegha concluded by urging continued focus on the timely completion of these projects to further benefit Ijaw communities.
