Businessman and Christian evangelist, Sir Innocent Chinedu Onuoha, Executive Chairman of InnoChris Group, has died at the age of 71.

His family confirmed in a statement that he passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 11, 2025, at his home in Lagos.

Onuoha, popularly known by the traditional title Ogbuefi in his community, was born in 1954 and hailed from Umuoma Umuaro II Autonomous Community in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.

A devoted member and evangelist in the Anglican Communion, Onuoha combined his faith with an active career in business and community service.

Before venturing into private enterprise, he worked as secretary to a former Chief Engineer at Flour Mills of Nigeria Ltd., gaining years of professional experience that later shaped his entrepreneurial journey.

He subsequently founded and led the InnoChris Group, a business conglomerate that includes InnoChris Transport, InnoChris Computers, and InnoChris Spare Parts (Wholesale and Retail).

Widely regarded as a bridge builder and philanthropist, Onuoha contributed to several development and infrastructure initiatives in his community. Through a scholarship programme he established, many indigent students were supported to pursue formal education.

He also mentored numerous young people through apprenticeship programmes, helping many of them establish their own businesses.

His philanthropic efforts extended to widows and other vulnerable members of society, providing support and assistance to beneficiaries across different parts of the country.

He is survived by his wife, Lady Adline Onuoha, children, grandchildren, and siblings.

The family said burial arrangements will be announced at a later date.
