The EVI Original Soundtrack Album is making waves in Nigerian cinema, celebrating Women’s History Month with a bold move.
This 10-track album, from the female-led film produced by Judith Audu and directed by Uyoyou Adia, features Osas Okonyon, Ariyiike Dimples, Abbey Wonder, and Bukeh Ikang (FBI).
The album is a standalone release on major digital streaming platforms, challenging industry norms. It serves as a musical companion to the Afrobeat drama EVI, telling a story of second chances, survival, and positive reinforcement .
Osas Okonyon, making her singing debut, says, “This album represents a deeply personal journey for me… I’m honored to be part of a project that celebrates female voices and challenges industry conventions.”
The album blends Afrobeats with intimate moments, exploring perseverance, self-belief, and emotional growth. Tracks like “Evi the Superstar,” “Where Do I Go,” and “Mirror” showcase the central character’s journey.
Producer Judith Audu emphasizes, “We believe Nigerian film soundtracks deserve the same attention and reverence as our music industry commands globally.”
The collaborative spirit that defines the album reflects the communal themes at the heart of the EVI narrative.
“Music is the heartbeat of this film, and we wanted to honor that by giving the soundtrack its own life,” says writer-director Uyoyou Adia. “We wanted audiences to feel Evi’s emotions not just through the visuals but through every note and lyric. Having Osas as both our lead actress and primary vocalist created an unbreakable bond between character and sound. By releasing this album independently, we’re showing that Nollywood soundtracks can exist as legitimate artistic statements.”
The album’s industry impact was evident at the official listening party held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Terraform Restaurant in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos. The evening event attracted a roster of Nigeria’s entertainment elite, bringing together a constellation of Nollywood’s brightest stars and top music industry professionals. The cross-industry turnout underscored the album’s significance as a bridge between Nigerian cinema and music.
Tracks in the album include; Evi Album Intro (Osas Okonyon), ‘Evi the Superstar’ (Osas Okonyon), ‘Vuvuzela’ (Abbey Wonder), ‘No Yawa’ (Osas Okonyon), ‘Brighter Day’ (Osas Okonyon), ‘All My Love’ (Abbey Wonder & Osas Okonyon), ‘Where Do I Go’ (Osas Okonyon), ‘Put Me In a Box’ (Bukeh Ikang – FBI), ‘Move’ (Ariyiike Dimples), and ‘Mirror’ (Osas Okonyon & Ariyiike Dimples).
