The North Central Youths Support Group for Tinubu 2027 has called on stakeholders, party leaders and political appointees from Nigeria’s North Central region to deepen engagement with young people and grassroots communities in order to strengthen participation in governance and development initiatives across the zone.

The group made the call while announcing plans to embark on a consultation and familiarisation tour aimed at meeting with key stakeholders, party leaders and political appointees from the region currently serving in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The North Central geopolitical zone comprises Benue, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger, Plateau states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Speaking on the initiative, Muhammed Jemilu, Director General of the North Central Youths Support Group for Tinubu 2027, said the consultations are designed to build a stronger working relationship between government representatives and the region’s youth population.

“Our objective as the North Central Youths Support Group for Tinubu 2027 is to strengthen the bridge between leadership and the grassroots by engaging directly with fede appointees from the region.

“Young people remain a critical pillar of civic participation and community mobilisation. When government representatives and youth leaders work together with a shared vision, it creates a stronger foundation for development and inclusive governance.”

According to him, the consultations will involve engagement with senior officials from the region serving as appointees including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, among other ministers, advisers and heads of federal agencies from the North Central.

He explained that the engagement will provide a platform for youth leaders and political appointees to exchange ideas, strengthen collaboration and promote civic awareness across the region.

The group added that the consultations are expected to encourage greater youth participation in governance while helping to strengthen communication between political leaders and communities across the zone.

President Tinubu, who assumed office in 2023, has repeatedly emphasized the importance of youth inclusion, national unity and regional engagement as part of his administration’s governance priorities.

The North Central Youths Support Group for Tinubu 2027 reaffirmed its commitment to promoting unity, constructive dialogue and sustained civic participation, aslo emphasizing that the collaboration between political leaders and young citizens remains essential for strengthening democratic engagement and long-term development across the North Central region.
