Street-to-Street Movement honors Igwe Madu as Grand Patron

…Reaffirms Support for Governor Mbah

ENUGU — The 042 Street-to-Street (Ogbe to Ogbe) Movement for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah has honored a prominent traditional ruler as its Grand Patron while reiterating its commitment to grassroots mobilization for the governor’s re-election.

The ceremony, held in Archi, Oji River Local Government Area, saw His Royal Highness Igwe Godwin Madu, JP (Mbaogu II of Mbaogu), Ezeala III of Archi, appointed as Grand Patron. Igwe Madu also serves as Deputy Chairman of the Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers and Chairman of the Enugu West Senatorial Zone Council of Traditional Rulers.

Addressing the gathering, Hon. Prince Uche Mbah (Alhaji Kpakikpo), Director General of the movement, described the group as a voluntary coalition of Enugu urban stakeholders, including old boys, landlords, and residents. He emphasized that the movement operates “driven by conviction, not contracts,” deploying personal resources to engage residents and promote awareness of Governor Mbah’s developmental initiatives.

The Founder and Board of Trustees Chairman, Chief Kenechukwu Ezenwere (Ezeudene I of Enugu State), lauded Igwe Madu for accepting the Grand Patron role, calling it a “blessing” and a morale boost for the group. He highlighted the movement’s achievements in ward-level mobilization, community engagement, and advocacy for the governor’s progress.

In his remarks, Igwe Madu commended the movement for its authenticity, reaffirmed his support for Governor Mbah, and praised the visible transformation across Enugu State. He pledged “100 per cent support” to the group’s agenda, emphasizing integrity and his commitment to working with genuine stakeholders.

The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Chief Obiora Onyeama, Chief Harry B, Mazi Obiora Okereke, Hon. Okey Onwuama, Chief Felix Anyadiegwu, Prince Chinedu Ezeh, and members of the Igwe’s cabinet, among others.

The gathering highlighted the unity between traditional leadership and urban stakeholders, reinforcing a collective resolve to sustain the developmental strides achieved under Governor Mbah’s administration.
