YPFG celebrates 5 years, empowers 70,000 Nigerians toward financial freedom

LAGOS — Your Personal Finance Girl (YPFG), a digital financial literacy platform founded by Oluchukwu Chiadika, has marked its fifth anniversary, announcing that it has empowered over 70,000 Nigerians through structured savings education, investment literacy, and community-driven financial accountability systems.

The milestone comes amid growing discussions on financial inclusion, economic resilience, and practical wealth-building education for young professionals and small-income earners in Nigeria.

Founded on March 1, 2021, YPFG began as a digital initiative aimed at simplifying personal finance education. In August 2024, the platform was formally incorporated as a limited liability company, transitioning from a social media-led movement to a structured financial literacy and strategy firm.

As part of the anniversary announcement, YPFG revealed that its community recorded ₦560 million in collective savings in 2025, a significant increase from ₦120 million in 2024. The growth reflects a deliberate focus on structured saving systems, investment education, and digital accountability models that encourage consistent financial discipline.

The platform operates primarily online, using educational content, budgeting tools, financial planning journals, and training programs to promote savings culture and responsible investing.

To commemorate the five-year milestone, YPFG announced the launch of “Project 100,000”, aimed at extending financial literacy tools and digital planning frameworks to 100,000 Nigerians. The initiative will provide structured templates for budgeting, savings tracking, and long-term wealth planning, empowering individuals to move from basic saving to informed investing.

Speaking on the journey, founder Oluchukwu Chiadika said: “Five years ago, this began as a simple commitment to make financial knowledge accessible and practical. Today, seeing tens of thousands of Nigerians adopt structured saving systems confirms that financial empowerment is possible when education meets accountability. Project 100,000 is our next step toward scaling that impact.”

Over the past five years, Chiadika has authored three e-books and one published book on personal finance, delivered more than 210 speaking engagements nationwide, including over 60 in 2025 alone, and featured on multiple television and radio platforms discussing youth empowerment and financial literacy.

As Nigeria continues to grapple with inflationary pressures and economic uncertainty, platforms like YPFG are increasingly equipping individuals with tools for personal economic stability. Industry observers note that community-based accountability systems and digital planning frameworks are becoming key drivers of savings behavior among young professionals and entrepreneurs.
