Ilesa Tech Community hosts innovation hangout on purpose, AI, digital impact

ILESÀ — The Ilesa Tech Community, led by Treasure Abiodun-Onajobi, hosted an engaging technology hangout on Saturday, February 28, 2026, bringing together tech enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, and young professionals to explore the future of technology and its societal impact.

Held at Blinkx Lounge, the event featured interactive sessions and a high-level panel discussion focused on purpose, adaptability, and innovation in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

A key highlight was the presence of Honourable Azeez Badmus, Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on Innovation, Science, and Digital Economy, who praised the community for fostering grassroots innovation and promoting technology discourse in Ilesa. Drawing on his experience as a techpreneur and IT consultant, he underscored the growing role of digital development in governance and public service.

The panel included Isaac Adedosu, Founder of TechandCo Hub; Oluwakayode Fafiyebi, Founder of Innox Technologies; and Taye Matthew Abdullahi, Director of ICT at the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Osun State chapter. Discussions emphasized purpose in technology, sustainability, integrity in innovation, and the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence.

Isaac Adedosu noted that while AI may disrupt industries, it also presents opportunities for those who remain adaptable and learn to leverage the technology effectively. Oluwakayode Fafiyebi stressed the importance of continuous learning, resilience, and long-term relevance in the tech industry. Taye Matthew Abdullahi highlighted the need for technology to address real human needs, emphasizing accountability, integrity, and leadership as essential for sustainable digital solutions.

An online session with Raphael Abayomi, CTO of Vant Inc., encouraged participants to approach complex problems strategically, breaking them into actionable steps.

Supported by Frontpoint Limited, Velox Gadgets, TechandCo Hub, and Codenovation, the event concluded with networking and interactive activities, reinforcing the Ilesa Tech Community’s mission to create a collaborative ecosystem for innovation.

By the end of the session, participants agreed that technology is not just a career but a responsibility, demanding integrity, adaptability, and a commitment to creating lasting value.
