Gen Z content creator, Tobechukwu Ugeh, better known as Tobeszn, has been named ambassador for the National Council for Arts and Culture, becoming the youngest to achieve the feat at just 23.

While the appointment is honorary and does not confer executive authority, its symbolism carries weight within Nigeria’s creative ecosystem. For years, content creation occupied an uncertain space in public perception. Visible and sometimes lucrative, yet rarely treated as a profession with civic significance.

In Tobeszn’s case, the recognition rests on consistency. His rise has been anchored in sustained travel storytelling that spotlights underrepresented parts of the country. From northern cities often mischaracterised in mainstream discourse to places that seldom trend online, his work merges curiosity with cultural preservation.

Over time, his platforms have evolved into a visual archive of Nigeria’s overlooked beauty. The confluence in Lokoja, the ancient cityscape of Kano, the terrains of Bauchi and Yobe, the rolling hills of Ondo State and many others.

His appointment reflects more than personal achievement. It signals that institutions such as the National Council for Arts and Culture are increasingly attentive to the influence of digital storytellers in tourism advocacy and cultural diplomacy.

Beyond tourism, Tobeszn has also expressed interest in conversations around men’s mental health and literacy across Nigeria and Africa. Yet travel remains central to his public identity.
