APC UK chair tasks new IGP on sustained collaboration between security agencies

Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, United Kingdom chapter, Mr Tunde Doherty, yesterday congratulated the newly appointed Inspector General of Police, Mr.Olatunji Rilwan Disu describing his elevation as well-deserved.


He described the appointment as both strategic and timely, noting that IGP Disu’s distinguished career, professional competence, and proven leadership capacity make him eminently qualified for the role.
Doherty, who is also the chairman of Committee of Diaspora Chairmen APC-CDC, commended the Federal Government for entrusting the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force to a seasoned officer with a strong track record of operational effectiveness and administrative excellence.


In a statement, he said: “IGP Tunji Disu has consistently demonstrated discipline, courage, and a commitment to service throughout his career. His experience across various commands and critical assignments has equipped him with the insight and expertise necessary to lead the Force at this pivotal time.


“He is a round peg in a round hole, and I am confidence that his tenure will focus on strengthening institutional reforms, improving community policing, enhancing professionalism within the Force, and restoring public trust.”


He also emphasised the need for sustained collaboration between security agencies and communities, stating that effective policing remains central to national stability, economic growth, and the overall well-being of citizens.
