…Donates ₦220m and 80,000 Bags of Rice Across Adamawa
Yola, Adamawa State – In a major show of generosity during the holy month of Ramadan, the Abdurrahman Bashir Haske Foundation has launched a large-scale welfare initiative covering all 21 local government areas of Adamawa State, providing food, cash, and mobility support to thousands of families.
The outreach, flagged off in Yola, includes 80,000 bags of rice and sugar, a cash donation of ₦220 million, 10 vehicles, and 50 motorcycles, aimed at easing economic hardship for residents during Ramadan. The initiative is expected to benefit between 40,000 and 80,000 individuals across the state.
A breakdown of the food donations reveals 30,000 bags of 50kg rice, 20,000 bags of 25kg rice, and 30,000 bags of other grains, strategically distributed to ensure the most vulnerable households in every local government area are reached.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, founder Abdurrahman Bashir Haske described the initiative as part of the foundation’s ongoing tradition of supporting communities.
“Coming back to our community, we wish we could do 100 times more than what we are doing today. We are committed to supporting families wherever the need is greatest,” he said.
Haske emphasized that the cash and items would directly reduce household hardships, stressing that meaningful change begins with targeted, practical support. The foundation’s coordinator echoed this sentiment, highlighting the initiative’s timeliness and impact, especially as Muslim faithful observe Ramadan amid Nigeria’s ongoing cost-of-living challenges.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude, noting that the initiative brought relief and happiness at a time of real need. “For many families, this is the right time, a crucial time when almost all households are struggling,” one beneficiary said. Another remarked that the foundation’s support particularly benefits the most vulnerable families who depend heavily on community-driven assistance.
What distinguishes this outreach is its comprehensive reach and structured approach, ensuring no local government area is left out. The inclusion of vehicles and motorcycles also addresses mobility challenges that affect rural and semi-urban residents, enabling them to participate more fully in economic activities.
For thousands of families across Adamawa, the Haske Foundation’s Ramadan intervention has had an immediate, tangible, and deeply personal impact, reflecting a model of organised and deliberate community welfare.
