Zamfara: APC chieftain raises concerns over conduct of party’s congresses

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State is facing internal challenges following disagreements over the conduct of its recent ward and local government congresses.

A party chieftain from Birnin Magaji Local Government Area, Ibrahim Lawal, issued a statement on Monday expressing dissatisfaction with the process. He described the exercise as a setback for internal democracy and urged party leaders to ensure fairness and transparency in future activities.

Lawal warned that unresolved disputes could deepen divisions within the party and weaken its credibility among grassroots members. He stressed that unity and adherence to democratic principles were essential for the APC to maintain public trust in Zamfara State.

He also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to exercise caution in handling the matter, emphasizing the need for impartial leadership and reconciliation efforts to safeguard the party’s integrity.

The Zamfara APC has experienced recurring internal disagreements in recent years, with party stakeholders often raising concerns about inclusivity and fair representation.
