‎‎A legal counsel and former Counselor for Asuta Ward in Kabba/Bunu LGA of Kogi State, Segun Dare has thrown his hat into the race for the Kabba/Bunu House of Assembly seat. 

‎Barrister Dare made his intention known while presenting a letter of Intent to his APC party executive in Kabba, a copy of which was made available to newsmen.

‎‎The letter read, “Today, I, Barrister Segun Dare, humbly  declare my intention to contest for the seat of Kabba/Bunu Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly in the 2027 general elections.

‎‎”This decision is borne out of deep reflection, wide consultations, and an unwavering commitment to the progress and prosperity of our people. Having had the privilege to serve as Councillor representing Asuta Ward, I understand firsthand the needs, aspirations, and challenges of our communities. My tenure was marked by people-oriented initiatives and legacy projects whose impacts remain visible and beneficial to our constituents.

‎‎”Kabba/Bunu deserves purposeful representation – leadership that listens, understands, and acts decisively in the interest of the people. With two Master’s degrees and a strong academic foundation, coupled with practical experience in governance and rooted knowledge in legislative drafting, I am prepared to contribute meaningfully to lawmaking that will drive sustainable development, social justice, youth empowerment, and economic growth.

‎‎”Our constituency stands at a critical point where effective representation is not just desirable but necessary. We need a voice that will: Advocate for quality education and improved healthcare services; Promote infrastructural development across our wards; Champion youth and women empowerment initiatives; Ensure transparency, accountability, and good governance; Sponsor impactful bills and motions that directly address local realities

‎‎”I am stepping forward not merely to occupy a seat, but to provide visionary, accessible, and result-driven leadership. Together, we can build a Kabba/Bunu where opportunities are expanded, voices are heard, and development is evenly distributed.
