The Victoria & James Akinleye Foundation has highlighted the importance of dignity-centred humanitarian service, following its recent outreach to a community of over 250 people in Ibadan.

Yemisi Wole-Akinleye explained that effective humanitarian support should protect the privacy and self-respect of beneficiaries while addressing their most pressing needs. Many of the Foundation’s interventions are carried out discreetly to ensure recipients are treated with respect and their dignity is preserved.

The Foundation’s work is guided by compassion, responsibility, and a long-standing commitment to improving lives. In addition to relief, it implements empowerment programmes designed to create lasting change. Students benefit from educational sponsorships, graduates access vocational training to enhance employability, and women entrepreneurs receive support to strengthen and grow their businesses.

Food, clothing, and other essential assistance complement these initiatives, ensuring that immediate needs are met alongside long-term opportunities for growth. The approach reflects the belief that meaningful humanitarian service combines practical support with empowerment to help communities thrive sustainably.
