United States based Nigerian Afropop artiste, SerialDaBoss, has announced the release of his new single, Body of Work, scheduled to drop on February 14, Valentine’s Day.
The track, produced independently, is already generating buzz ahead of its official release, gaining early traction across social media platforms, with fans responding to its upbeat rhythm, club-friendly tempo and confident delivery.

SerialDaBoss, born Ifeanyi Victor Afam on June 30, 1998, in Lagos, represents a growing generation of Nigerian artistes blending global exposure with strong cultural roots. A graduate of Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, the Nigerian-American singer has steadily built his sound while learning both the business and creative sides of music.
Speaking on the inspiration behind the new single, Afam said Body of Work goes beyond its apparent celebration of feminine allure, describing it as a personal and symbolic statement of his artistic journey.

“Body of Work is more than what it first appears to be. On the surface, people may think it’s a story about a woman, but that’s only the entry point. Beneath that layer, it’s a reflection of my craft, my journey, and my purpose,” he said. “It represents beauty, passion, discipline, and the legacy I’m intentionally building.”
He explained that the title reflects years of preparation, resilience and belief, particularly as an independent artiste navigating life and music outside Nigeria. Afam, who is the son of a former Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, noted that his background instilled discipline and focus, qualities he says have shaped his career.

Despite being based abroad, SerialDaBoss maintained that Afrobeats’ true strength remains rooted in Nigeria.
“There’s respect that comes with being overseas, but Afrobeats lives at home. The culture, the energy, the movement, it all starts from the source. Real impact begins when you reconnect with where the sound was born,” he said.

The artiste also revealed his admiration for global and Nigerian music heavyweights such as Rick Ross, Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Omah Lay and Olamide, whom he described as creative forces that inspire his long-term vision.
Addressing comparisons between his sound and that of Burna Boy, Afam downplayed competition, stressing the importance of consistency and groundwork.
“This isn’t about competition. It’s about consistency, preparation and timing,” he said.

With Body of Work, SerialDaBoss is positioning himself for a stronger imprint on the Afropop scene, offering listeners a record that blends catchy sound with personal storytelling when it drops on February 14.
