By TONY NYONG
UYO—AKWA Ibom State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, weekend, hailed the Supreme Court judgment,  which upheld his re-election.

The governor, who thanked the people for standing by him and God for giving him victory, said: “I thank all of you and I give glory to God that each time they stand to challenge the will of God, God uses the court to make sure that His will was maintained.

‘’I give glory to God that you are celebrating the judgment of the Supreme Court and finally God had brought the issue of the 2011 governorship election to an end. The election of 2011 was lost and won. That means that Godswill is done again in Akwa Ibom State.’’

Akpabio who dismissed as mere distractions, some cases pending in other courts by some aggrieved governorship candidates, said ‘’sometimes, I tend to forget that there is a case in court because I do not want to lose focus. I know the number of years I have used to change Akwa Ibom.”

‘’In short, one of the primaries of PDP even the Supreme Court had already taken care of that one with another judgment when the judges pointed out that it was only a political party that can determine who was its candidate.
