The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has launched a five-day capacity-building training programme on GSM phone repair for 50 youths in Delta State.

The training, which commenced on Monday, is being implemented by Papi Efe Limited as part of the Board’s ongoing efforts to equip Nigerian youths with practical skills in the telecommunications sector.

Participants are receiving hands-on training in mobile phone repair and maintenance, as well as software and hardware troubleshooting. At the end of the programme, beneficiaries are expected to acquire the competence required to repair and maintain mobile phones and establish their own repair businesses.

The initiative is part of NCDMB’s broader human capital development drive, which includes vocational and technical training in areas such as phone repair, information and communication technology, and other emerging trades.

According to the Board, the programmes are designed to empower young Nigerians with employable skills that can enhance job opportunities, promote entrepreneurship, and foster economic self-reliance.

The GSM phone repair training is expected to positively impact youths in Delta State by providing them with valuable technical skills, while contributing to efforts aimed at reducing unemployment and stimulating economic growth in the country.
