The Senate Deputy Chief Whip and representative of Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, has connected six rural communities with a 12-kilometre road, reinforcing his commitment to rural development and grassroots infrastructure.

During an inspection of the ongoing project, Senator Nwebonyi highlighted the construction of the Ogbutaroku–Ephenyim–Izenyi–Ulanwu–Ndiechi–Onyirigbo road in Ebonyi Local Government Area, which links communities within the Ishieke Ngbomeze Kingdom, significantly improving access, mobility, and economic activity in the area.

He noted that earthworks have been completed, with bridges and culverts under construction, and emphasised that the road is built using modern concrete technology, designed to last over 50 years.

“This project is part of my broader vision to ensure that no community in Ebonyi North is left behind in infrastructural development. Quality, durability, and value for public funds remain my priority,” the senator said.

Senator Nwebonyi also highlighted his broader achievements, including solar-powered streetlights, industrial boreholes, quality road networks, and empowerment programmes, all equitably distributed across the four local government areas of Ebonyi North: Abakaliki, Ebonyi, Izzi, and Ohaukwu.

In separate remarks, HRH Eze Peter Ukpamazi, traditional ruler of Mbeke Ishieke, alongside Mr. Nwambam Aloysius and Hon. Igube Oliver, lauded the senator’s development initiatives, describing his re-election in 2027 as a priority.

With people-oriented projects across multiple sectors, Senator Nwebonyi has earned the confidence and appreciation of his constituents, with many affirming that one successful term deserves another to consolidate and expand these achievements.
