The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with YougRich Heritage Nigeria Limited, has successfully concluded a one-month training programme on Welding and Fabrication for 30 youths in Delta State.
The initiative forms part of NCDMB’s ongoing efforts to empower Nigerian youths with practical, industry-relevant skills across various vocational trades, with a focus on promoting self-reliance and employability.
Participants from diverse backgrounds and skill levels underwent intensive theoretical and hands-on training throughout the programme.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of YougRich Heritage Nigeria Limited, Mr. Agbanashi Young, expressed appreciation to the NCDMB for entrusting his company with the training assignment.
“We are honoured to partner with the NCDMB on this initiative, and we are proud of the progress recorded by the participants,” Young said. “We urge the Board to sustain this effort, as programmes like this will go a long way in empowering Nigerian youths and making them self-reliant.”
He also commended President Bola Tinubu for his continued support of the NCDMB and its youth development initiatives.
The beneficiaries praised the organisers for the comprehensive nature of the programme and the commitment of the facilitators, noting that the training significantly enhanced their technical capacity and employment prospects.
The welding and fabrication training covered critical areas such as safety protocols, equipment handling, and project design and execution, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in the industry.
The successful completion of the programme further underscores NCDMB’s commitment to youth skills development and economic empowerment. Beneficiaries are expected to leverage the acquired skills to establish welding and fabrication enterprises or secure gainful employment within the sector.
