Political stakeholders of Mba Ward 18 in Etche Local Government Area of Rivers State have issued a communiqué urging greater restraint and adherence to established leadership protocols among public office holders.

They expressed concern alleged recent public comments attributed to the chairman of the council, Hon. Chima Boniface Njoku.

The statement was released by the Mba Ward 18 Stakeholders Forum and jointly signed by Etche GDI Coordinator, Iheanyichukwu Iroegbu; Secretary of the Mba Caucus, Godspower Egbule; Mba Ward 18 APC Chairman, Anum Obinna; and Mba Ward 18 PDP Chairman, Nwoabiri Godpower.

The forum emphasized the importance of mutual respect, hierarchy, and decorum in political discourse, noting that these values are essential for effective governance and collaboration. “As leaders, elders and stakeholders of Mba Ward 18, we believe that engagements among elected representatives should be guided by respect, dialogue and established political traditions,” the communiqué stated.

Stakeholders further observed that public exchanges which deviate from these principles could create unnecessary tension and distract from the collective responsibility of leaders to work together for the development of Etche and Rivers State.

The group reaffirmed its respect for elected representatives at both the senatorial and state assembly levels, stressing the need for unity and constructive engagement in the interest of peace and progress.

In conclusion, the forum appealed to all leaders in the area to exercise caution in public communication and to strengthen collaboration across political lines. They underscored that harmony among leaders remains vital to grassroots governance and to advancing the welfare of the people.
