ONITSHA – Sir Nathan Ifeanyichukwu Ofoma, Knight of Saint Christopher (KSC), Grand Patron of the Boys’ Brigade and Chairman of Nathan Ofoma & Sons (NAOS), a successful businessman, humanitarian, major contributor to education and devout Christian, has passed on.

Born in 1945, Sir Nathan Ofoma, who hailed from Ezinifite town in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, quietly slept in the Lord on Saturday, December 27, 2025, with his wife, Lady Esther Ofoma, and their eight children by his side.

Sir Nathan was a hardworking businessman with the fear of God and rare integrity, who lived a life worthy of emulation. He lost his right hand at the age of 24 in an accident, a setback that would have deterred many, but not him. He picked up his life, learnt how to drive and use his left hand, and with God on his side, rose like an eagle with determination, courage, integrity and hard work to build a very successful business.

A captain of industry, lover of Jesus and man of great faith, he was a giver who kept giving. As recently as December 25, just two days before his death, he handed over in a ceremony a four-bedroom modern bungalow he built for one of his oldest staff members.

Until his death, Sir Nathan Ofoma was a super major key distributor to both Nigerian Breweries and Guinness Nigeria Limited. Because of his success, he was nicknamed the “Double Professor of Business.” The headquarters of his registered company, Nathan Ofoma & Sons, is located between the old Ogbunike Toll Gate and the Building Materials International Market, Ogidi, about one kilometre from the commercial city of Onitsha, Anambra State.

His eldest son, Sir Chinedu Ofoma (KSC), confirmed his father’s demise to newsmen in Onitsha, adding that burial arrangements would be announced later after wide consultation within the family.

Meanwhile, condolence messages have continued to pour in from eminent personalities within Nigeria and the diaspora, according to entries in the condolence register opened online, at the company’s headquarters and at his residential home in Omagba Phase 2, Onitsha, as well as his hometown of Amaekwulu, Ezinifite, Aguata.
