Afro-Alt artist Bellllz unveils upcoming EP OBANTA

Emerging Lagos-based Afro-Alt artist Bellllz, born Adeola Bolujo, is carving a distinctive space in Nigeria’s music scene by fusing Afrobeats, rap, drill, and soulful melodies into what he calls “emotionally healing street poetry.”

Raised by his grandparents in a traditional household, Bellllz developed a grounded yet adventurous spirit that resisted conventional paths. While his family envisioned a career in medicine, he gravitated toward music from an early age, starting to rap in high school and joining the music and dance collective Sparkle of Change.

He honed his craft performing at church events and neighborhood cyphers—environments that nurtured both his spiritual awareness and authentic street perspective.

After a period of stepping back, Bellllz returned to music in 2023 with renewed focus and consistency. His growing catalog—including standout tracks “Pay Me My Money,” “Under Pressure,” “No Fugazzi,” and “Amaka”—explores themes of survival, clarity, rebirth, freedom, and love, reflecting personal growth and resilience.

Now, Bellllz is preparing to introduce his alter ego OBANTA— a warrior spirit inspired by Ijebu leadership archetypes—through his forthcoming six-track EP of the same name. OBANTA embodies tender strength, spiritual grounding, and protective love, marking a deeper chapter in his artistic evolution.

Bellllz has expanded his reach through meaningful cross-border collaborations, most notably with an East African artist he connected with organically through shared emotional depth and creative alignment.

For Bellllz, music serves as an emotional ritual—a powerful tool for grounding, healing, and expressing self-truth.

“I see my music as documentation of survival, growth, and quiet power,” he has shared, emphasizing his commitment to building a catalog that resonates on both personal and universal levels.

As he gears up for the release of OBANTA, Bellllz continues to position himself as a thoughtful, boundary-pushing voice in Afro-Alt, blending cultural roots with raw emotional honesty to connect with listeners across borders.
