A month-long electric meter repair training programme for 50 youths in Edo State has been successfully concluded by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) in collaboration with Bestik and Sons Limited.
The programme was designed to boost employability and entrepreneurship by equipping participants with practical skills in electric meter repairs.
Participants commended NCDMB and Bestik and Sons Limited for the opportunity, describing the training as timely and impactful. They expressed optimism that the skills acquired would enhance their socio-economic well-being and create sustainable livelihood opportunities.
The lead facilitator, Mr. Barnabas Godswill, expressed appreciation to the leadership of NCDMB, headed by Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe, for supporting the initiative. He praised the commitment of the trainees, noting significant improvements in their technical competence and understanding of electric meter systems over the duration of the programme.
The training, he said, promotes self-reliance and entrepreneurship among youths in Edo State, urging beneficiaries to deploy their new skills to positively impact their communities and contribute to national development.
The initiative underscores NCDMB’s continued commitment to skills development and youth empowerment and is expected to support the energy sector by expanding the pool of skilled manpower while encouraging small-scale enterprise growth.
