Renowned gospel artist Sunmisola Agbebi-Okeleye released her latest single, Amioluwa, featuring her husband, gospel artist Yinka Okeleye, on 9th January 2026, and it’s already creating waves for its uplifting message. Sharing the inspiration behind the song in an interview with Elowell Max, she describes the single as a personal declaration of faith and divine identity in Christ.
“Amioluwa o be lori mi oo, Amioluwa o be Lara mi — when I sing these lines, I am reminded that I am never alone,” Sunmisola explains. “God is with me, He is for me, and I carry the mantle of Christ. I can’t be defeated, Christ is my identity, these words are not mere lyrics; they are my prayer, my life, and my testimony.”
Born on 2nd May, 2003, Sunmisola says that Amioluwa was inspired by her spiritual journey and her life with her husband, Yinka Okeleye. “Working with him on this song felt natural because he knows my heart and my calling. Music has always been part of our lives, and creating something that speaks about God’s faithfulness together was incredibly meaningful.”
She explains that the track is meant to encourage listeners to embrace their identity in Christ. “When life feels heavy or uncertain, I want people to remember they are not alone. God is with them, God is for them. That’s what Amioluwa is about, declaring victory, celebrating faith, and living boldly in Christ.”
For Sunmisola, she sees every release as an extension of her personal walk with God, a way to point hearts back to Jesus while encouraging believers to stand firm in their faith.
Over the years, she has consistently emphasized that worship is not limited to sound or stage, but expressed through daily obedience, discipline, and surrender. As the song continues to gain traction, listeners are already describing it as comforting, reassuring, and spiritually grounding.
