KADUNA — Senator Lawal Adamu Usman (Senator LA) has visited victims receiving treatment at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, Kaduna, following the recent abduction of 177 worshippers from churches in Kurmin Wali community, Kajuru Local Government Area.

Representing Kaduna Central Senatorial Zone in the National Assembly, Senator LA described the attack as “condemnable, inhuman and unacceptable,” expressing sympathy for the injured and praying for their swift recovery.

During the visit, he assured victims and their families that efforts are ongoing to secure the safe release of all abducted worshippers. “I am in constant communication with relevant security agencies and key stakeholders. My colleagues and I at the Senate will continue to deploy every legitimate means available to ensure the safe and unharmed return of the 177 abducted worshippers,” he said.

The Senator reaffirmed the National Assembly’s commitment to supporting security agencies through legislation, advocacy, and oversight aimed at strengthening operations in vulnerable communities across Kaduna State. He condemned attacks on places of worship as assaults on humanity and religious freedom and pledged to work closely with authorities to prevent recurrence.

After the hospital visit, Senator LA traveled to Kurmin Wali community, where he met relatives of the abducted victims, offering comfort and encouragement while urging them to remain hopeful. He also called on residents to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing credible information that could aid rescue efforts.

The Senator paid a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler of Agom Kufana Chiefdom, Chief Titus Dauda, to commiserate with him and the community.
