Tension enveloped Lekki Palm City Estate in the Ajah area of Lagos on Thursday evening following the reported invasion of the estate by suspected miscreants, who claimed they were acting on the directive of a traditional authority.

Eyewitness accounts indicated that the individuals entered the estate in groups, causing panic among residents and disrupting normal activities. The motive for the action could not be independently verified as of the time of filing this report.

Security operatives were said to have responded promptly to distress calls from the estate, leading to the arrest of some of the suspects by officers of the Lagos State Police Command.
Police authorities confirmed that investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the claims made by the suspects and the extent of damage, if any, to property within the estate.

Meanwhile, residents of Lekki Palm City Estate have called on the government and relevant authorities to ensure adequate security in the area and to take necessary steps to restore calm and safeguard lives and property as investigations continue.
