A Haitian-born natural health educator, Lissel Severe, has emerged as one of the most influential voices in digital wellness education, leveraging TikTok to promote awareness about natural remedies and holistic well-being to a global audience of over 1.4 million followers.

The content creator, who began producing videos on TikTok in 2020, says the motivation behind the platform was deeply rooted in childhood experiences and family heritage.

According to Lissel Severe, early exposure to natural medicine through a father who was highly knowledgeable in herbal and traditional remedies laid the foundation for a lifelong passion.

“My father was highly educated in natural medicine, and his knowledge inspired me to share what I know with my community,” the creator said.

Public attention began to build when the creator started sharing practical explanations of natural medicine and demonstrating how certain remedies could support the body, often as complementary alternatives to conventional treatment approaches.

The content, described as realistic, welcoming and straight to the point, quickly resonated with audiences seeking accessible and culturally grounded health information.

“My style makes people feel at home. It’s honest and direct,” the educator explained.

The strong connection with followers, the creator believes, stems from the global relevance of natural medicine and a deeply held belief that such knowledge is divinely inspired and meant to be shared responsibly.

In addition to TikTok’s 1.4 million followers, the educator has built a combined audience of over 500,000 followers across other social media platforms, reinforcing their status as a recognised digital voice in natural wellness advocacy.

The growing influence led to the launch of a natural tea business in 2021, following a year of consistent educational content. The teas, made from carefully selected herbs, are marketed as supporting a wide range of health concerns rather than targeting a single condition.

According to the creator, the TikTok platform has played a central role in the business’s visibility by enabling direct engagement with customers and allowing real-time education.

A significant portion of the content focuses on debunking common health myths, particularly around conditions such as diabetes, high cholesterol and sickle cell disease, presented from a natural health perspective.

To ensure safety and responsibility, the creator says information shared is continually reviewed, with ongoing education and verification through reliable sources.

“I feel a strong responsibility to be consistent and provide valuable information,” the educator noted.

Like many online entrepreneurs, the journey has not been without challenges. The creator cited false reports, misinformation and resistance from critics as ongoing obstacles but insists that focus remains on the broader mission.

“Criticism doesn’t distract me. I stay focused on my purpose,” the educator said.

Often described as bold and direct, the creator sees this as a strength rather than a liability, adding that honesty has helped build trust with followers through transparency, testimonials and active communication.

Beyond health education, the influencer says representing Haiti and the Haitian community remains a key personal mission.

“I am honoured to represent Haiti and show that Haitians are making positive global impacts beyond stereotypes,” the creator said.

The work, they believe, helps bridge cultural understanding around natural remedies and highlights the value of traditional knowledge in modern wellness conversations.

Ultimately, the educator hopes audiences take away a message of empowerment — that natural medicine is a valuable resource and that wellness does not always have to depend solely on pharmaceutical solutions.

“I want people to understand that natural medicine is powerful and accessible, and that we can support our well-being using the resources around us,” the creator said.
