Traders Prime Microfinance Bank set to transform Nigeria’s trade finance sector

Abuja — Traders Prime Microfinance Bank is set to commence operations in Nigeria with a technology-driven model aimed at transforming the country’s trade finance landscape and expanding access to financial services for businesses, particularly small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs).

The bank, which is scheduled for official launch soon, says it will deploy innovation and digital solutions to address long-standing challenges faced by traders and entrepreneurs in the Nigerian market.

According to the management, Traders Prime Microfinance Bank will offer a range of specialised services tailored to the needs of businesses involved in trade and commerce. These include inventory management solutions to help firms optimise stock levels and improve cash flow, as well as enhanced loan collection systems designed to simplify repayments through technology-enabled platforms.

Other services to be provided by the bank include escrow services to ensure secure transactions between buyers and sellers, customs clearance support to ease the movement of goods through ports, and mediation services aimed at resolving disputes and strengthening trust between trading partners.

The bank noted that its approach is designed to improve access to finance for SMEs and traders, boost economic growth, and deepen financial inclusion across the country.

“Our goal is to address the unique challenges faced by Nigerian businesses by deploying innovative and practical financial solutions,” a spokesperson for Traders Prime Microfinance Bank said. “We are committed to leveraging technology to bridge financial gaps and unlock economic opportunities for businesses, while supporting sustainable growth and prosperity.”

The management added that by focusing on trade-specific financial services, the bank intends to strengthen supply chains, improve business efficiency and contribute to national economic development.

Traders Prime Microfinance Bank is expected to provide further information on its products, service channels and accessibility as part of its official launch activities.

The entry of the bank into Nigeria’s financial services sector is anticipated to offer traders and SMEs alternative financing options and more efficient tools for managing trade-related transactions.
