The Director-General of the APC Digital Force, Pharm. Ikeagwuonwu Chinedu Klinsmann, has commended Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, for what he described as bold and strategic leadership in convening the recent All Progressives Congress (APC) South-East Stakeholders’ Meeting in Enugu.

In a statement issued from Stockholm, Sweden, Klinsmann said the meeting, held at Hotel Presidential, Enugu, marked a significant turning point in the political repositioning of the South-East within the APC and Nigeria’s broader national power structure. 

He described Uzodimma as the undisputed leader of the APC in the region and a key driver of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to him, the Enugu gathering went beyond routine party consultations and represented a convergence of political realism and regional self-interest aimed at restoring the South-East’s relevance in national governance. 

He noted that the meeting brought together APC governors, current and former lawmakers, party elders and strategists from the five South-East states, who resolved to work collectively for President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Klinsmann said Governor Uzodimma demonstrated “clarity of purpose and courage” by addressing what he called long-standing political miscalculations that had previously sidelined the region from the centre of power. 

“The message was firm and unambiguous — political relevance in a plural democracy is achieved through strategic alliances, negotiation and active participation in government, not emotional posturing,” he said.

He explained that Uzodimma’s call for bloc support for President Tinubu was based on performance rather than sentiment, citing ongoing economic reforms, infrastructure investments, security recalibration and institutional restructuring under the current administration.

“These policies require continuity to deliver full benefits to all regions, including the South-East,” Klinsmann added.

The APC Digital Force DG also highlighted Uzodimma’s governance record in Imo State, noting that since assuming office in 2020, the governor has pursued an aggressive development agenda anchored on Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery. He said the approach had resulted in improved infrastructure, healthcare delivery, educational investment and security stabilisation.

Beyond Imo State, Klinsmann described Uzodimma as a bridge-builder for the South-East within the Nigerian federation. He said the governor’s role within the Progressive Governors’ Forum and his working relationship with President Tinubu had helped attract increased federal attention to the region.

Klinsmann aligned himself with Uzodimma’s position that the Renewed Hope Agenda offers the most viable path to national stability and growth, citing reforms such as fuel subsidy removal, foreign exchange unification and expanded social investment programmes. 

“Though challenging, these reforms are laying the foundation for long-term recovery,” he said.

He urged political leaders and stakeholders in the South-East to rally behind Uzodimma and President Tinubu ahead of 2027, stressing that “the path to national relevance is paved with courage, strategy and engagement.”
