Residents across the 11 wards of Ayedaade Local Government Area, Osun State, on New Year’s Day benefited from a food distribution initiative organised by the Founder of the Omo Ajonbadi Foundation, Odeomu, Babatunde Michael Abimboye, popularly known as Omo Ajonbadi.
The outreach, which took place simultaneously across the local government, was aimed at helping families welcome the New Year with renewed hope and a sense of dignity, particularly amid prevailing economic pressures.
Speaking on the initiative, Abimboye described the distribution as a modest but deliberate act of solidarity with the people. He noted that the New Year presented an opportunity to stand with families at the grassroots and reaffirm shared faith in God for better days ahead.
“This is about reminding our people that they are not alone. Even in difficult times, community, compassion and faith must guide us as we step into a new year,” he said.
Beyond the humanitarian gesture, Abimboye used the occasion to call on residents of Ayedaade to sustain their support for Governor Ademola Adeleke, stressing the importance of continuity in what he described as people-centred governance in Osun State.
According to him, the Adeleke administration has prioritised policies and projects that directly impact ordinary citizens, particularly at the local government level, and deserves continued backing to consolidate ongoing reforms and development efforts.
Abimboye has, over time, emerged as a visible grassroots supporter of Governor Adeleke’s government in Ayedaade LGA. Through the Omo Ajonbadi Foundation and personal initiatives, he has consistently engaged in community-based interventions, including periodic food distributions during festive seasons, support for party mobilisation activities, and advocacy for inclusive governance aligned with the administration’s agenda.
He has also been active in promoting civic participation and encouraging residents, especially youths, to take ownership of governance by supporting programmes and policies aimed at social welfare, infrastructure development and economic relief across Osun State.
The New Year outreach, community leaders noted, further reinforces Abimboye’s pattern of combining political ad
