Comrade Daniel Onjeh has commended the Honourable Commissioner for Water Resources, Environment and Climate Change in Benue State, Hon. Ugwu Odoh, for taking the time to personally inspect ongoing projects in Ogbadibo Local Government Area.

Onjeh, the 2023 APC Benue South Senatorial Candidate and former President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, said the visit helped to clear the air and put facts where speculation had taken over. He noted that seeing projects on the ground remains the most honest way to assess performance, rather than relying on rumours and politically motivated narratives.

The inspection, which focused mainly on water projects under the Alia administration, took the Commissioner to several communities across Ogbadibo. According to Onjeh, who also served as former President of the West Africa Students Union and former Chairman of the Governing Board of the Project Development Institute, Enugu, the exercise showed clearly that work is ongoing and that the projects are already making a difference in the daily lives of the people.

He observed that the exercise enjoyed strong support from the All Progressives Congress structure in the local government. The APC Chairman in Ogbadibo, Hon. Edwin Billy Apochi, led the local party delegation, alongside the Chairman of the APC Ward Chairmen, Hon. Godwin Abah. Councillors, the Council Secretary, Joy Ameh, ward chairmen, ward executives and other party stakeholders were also present throughout the inspection.

Onjeh said the turnout and level of engagement reflected unity within the party and a shared sense of responsibility for the development efforts of the Alia administration. He added that from his experience in student leadership, grassroots involvement and cohesion remain central to sustaining stability and meaningful progress.

He explained that the inspection gave the Commissioner the opportunity to interact directly with community members, listen to their concerns and verify the status of projects, particularly water facilities, which are critical to public health and rural development.

According to Onjeh, this hands-on approach reassures the public that government projects are not just announced and forgotten, but are being followed up on and accounted for. He stressed that physical verification remains the most reliable way to judge performance.

He further described Hon. Ugwu Odoh as calm, mature and measured in his leadership approach, noting that these qualities have helped to build confidence among party members and stakeholders in Ogbadibo.

Onjeh added that the Commissioner’s conduct during the inspection showed respect for local party structures and grassroots stakeholders, and that such engagement helps to strengthen trust between government and the people.

He concluded by saying that the level of cooperation seen among the state government, local government officials, councillors and party leaders during the inspection highlighted the importance of teamwork in governance. He reaffirmed his support for the Alia administration and encouraged continued engagement with communities as the surest way to sustain development, strengthen the party and earn public trust.
