ORGANISERS of the Pan-Afrikan Drum Festival have said that the 2026 edition of the festival would be impactful and memorable.

According to the organisers, the festival activities will commence on July 21 and 22, 2026, at Brampton, Mississauga and Toronto with tourists, cultural aficionados and dignitaries from around the world in attendance.

Covener of the Pan-African Drum festival, Prince Segun Akanni, in a statement, emphasised the essence of the festival, saying that it “lies in its power as a unifying force that connects communities, preserves cultural heritage, promotes peace, unity, and serves as a vital medium for communication, storytelling, and spiritual expression.”

Akanni stated that the festival would provide empowerment programmes for youths as it was a core priority.

He said: “July 23 is dedicated to the youth empowerment programme. A programme designed to inspire, educate, and equip young people for leadership and global relevance.

“The youth empowerment programme will once again take precedence, setting the tone for other key cultural, social, and diplomatic engagements scheduled throughout the festival period.”

He added that the festival would provide opportunities for attendees to tour the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Tournament venues and interact with renowned football personalities from around the world.

“It’s going to be a time when the country will have just concluded the hosting of the FIFA World Cup; this unique convergence is expected to make the festival a truly spectacular experience for participants and visitors from across the globe.

“However, the grand finale of the festival will take place on Friday, July 24, 2026, showcasing African culture, rhythm, unity, and excellence at its finest.”
