Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL) on Tuesday extended its annual Christmas outreach to Owaza and several communities in Rivers State, distributing food items and providing free medical services to residents. The initiative aims to appreciate host communities for their support throughout 2025 and strengthen collaboration for the year ahead.
Speaking at a primary school in Owaza, Ebikeme Andrew, Head of Community Relations at PINL, thanked residents for their cooperation but urged them to double their efforts in 2026 to prevent infractions along the Trans Niger Pipelines (TNP).
“As a way of saying thank you, we decided to share these palliatives with the communities,” Andrew said. “We also ask for more support in 2026. Encourage your youths and everyone in your community to abandon oil bunkering and work with the government to stop all forms of criminality along the TNP. While you double your efforts, we will also intensify programmes that benefit everyone in these communities.”
Andrew further highlighted the ongoing free medical outreach, noting that sufficient personnel were on hand to attend to the healthcare needs of residents.
Responding to the gesture, Chief Maxwell Chibuzor Nwagbara, Traditional Prime Minister of Owaza, expressed satisfaction with PINL’s engagement, emphasizing that festive outreach fosters goodwill and deters anti-social behavior.
“It is important that every family has something to eat during this festive period. When people are cared for, they are less likely to think of evil,” Chief Nwagbara said. He also called on the Federal Government to expand PINL’s operations, citing the company’s strong relationships with host communities and its role in increasing oil production along the TNP.
The monarch reaffirmed the community’s commitment to supporting PINL’s operations, pledging continued partnership and collaboration in the coming year.
