Oyo State has been officially mobilised for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) launched a 14-Federal Constituency mobilisation tour aimed at fostering unity, reconciliation, and strong electoral performance.

The event, flagged off on Monday at Oba Adeyemi Stadium, Oyo town, brought together party leaders, elders, ward executives, and grassroots organisers, signalling a renewed commitment to the President’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.”

Oyo State Ambassador for Renewed Hope, Senator Teslim Folarin, emphasised that all APC leaders had set aside personal political ambitions to focus on party unity and the larger goal of delivering Tinubu a decisive victory.

“Unity before ambition. Every leader with 2027 aspirations has put them aside. Our mission is clear: consolidate our structures, energise supporters, and deliver a landslide mandate for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Folarin said.

He recalled that Tinubu secured 449,884 votes in Oyo State during the 2023 presidential election and announced that the party is now targeting at least a 35 per cent increase in votes for 2027. Folarin described the tour as a strategic programme combining grassroots mobilisation, stakeholder diplomacy, political intelligence, and early election planning to strengthen APC structures across all 33 local government areas.

“Every member of our party must be mobilised. Every supporter must be engaged. This is how we will secure a historic victory for President Tinubu,” he added.

Former First Lady of Oyo State, Dr. (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi, praised the initiative as a unifying platform, calling for an end to internal conflicts within the party. Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, urged members to prioritise loyalty to the party’s national leadership, stressing that Tinubu’s reforms require strong backing from key states like Oyo.

APC state Chairman, Olayide Abass, described the constituency tour as a vital opportunity to reconnect with grassroots members and address internal concerns ahead of the election. Several party leaders, including Senators Yunus Akintunde, Sharafadeen Alli, Femi Lanlehin, and Ayo Adeseun, echoed Folarin’s call for unity, stressing that the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda hinges on collective action rather than rivalry.

The event was attended by former deputy governors, senators, former speakers, party executives, grassroots mobilisation leaders, and elders from across the state, reflecting a broad-based effort to ensure APC’s dominance in Oyo State for the 2027 elections.
