WARRI- OIL producing communities in Delta State, under the auspices of Oil Mineral Producing Areas Stakeholders Forum, OMPSTAFOR, have petitioned President Goodluck Jonathan over the exclusion of the state from the board of Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC, since 2010.

OMPSTAFOR, in the petition by its National Coordinator, Prince Maikpobi Okareme, said the communities were disturbed that “the state’s position was still mysteriously left vacant after two years.”

The group pleaded to the President to urgently forward the name of the state’s former commissioner in the commission, Major General Orho Obada (rtd), who successfully completed his first tenure in 2010 to the Senate for re-confirmation to enable him commence his second tenure, as was done for the more than 30 other states’ representatives on the board of RMAFC.

The petition, said: “On behalf of the people of Delta State in particular and OMPSTAFOR, we, hereby, draw the attention of Mr. President to the inadvertent omission of a representative of Delta State, a major oil producing state, whose monies were being shared, in the constitutionally created RMAFC since August 16, 2010.”
