A 19-year-old Industrial student, Michael Adewale, is drawing interest within Nigeria’s online trading community after developing an AI-powered system that some young investors say is helping them navigate market decisions.
Michael, a student at the University of Benin, UNIBEN, began exploring online business models in 2023 upon entering university before discovering a deeper passion for technology and automation.
According to him, the project started when he was 16, working from a hot laptop while developing algorithms that could help traders make decisions driven by data, not emotions.
His team spent more than a year testing, rebuilding, and refining the AI trading model, which was designed to help traders make smarter, clearer, and more consistent decisions. The system has since evolved into a tool now used by a growing group of traders and learners seeking more reliable guidance in their trading activity.
In an interview, Michael said the goal was to create “a system that could help people trade with confidence.”
While the tool’s impact is expanding, tech observers note that it aligns with a broader trend among young Africans turning to artificial intelligence to build technology that solves real problems in trading education and decision-making.
Michael says further development is underway as interest in AI-driven trading tools continues to rise across the region.
