ABUJA- THE Clerk to the National Assembly, CNA, Kamoru Ogunlana has distanced the National Assembly from a group known as Association of Legislative Drafting and Advocacy Practitioners (ALDRAP), which is purportedly planning to float an Association or a Registry for Legislative Drafters.
According to him, ALDRAP also is proposing to host an award ceremony, including the so called “Blue Silk Award”, at the National Assembly Complex on Monday, 15″ December, 2025. The award ceremony was not allowed.
A statement signed yesterday in Abuja by the Deputy Director, Information/S. A. Media to the CNA, Shehu Umar Tama read, “The Office of the Clerk to the National Assembly wishes to clarify that it has no affiliation whatsoever, with a group known as Association of Legislative Drafting and Advocacy Practitioners (ALDRAP), which is purportedly planning to float an Association or a Registry for Legislative Drafters and planned to host an award ceremony, including the so called “Blue Silk Award”, at the National Assembly Complex on Monday, 15” December, 2025. The award ceremony was not allowed.
“At no time did the Clerk to the National Assembly consent to membership of the said Association, accept or indicate interest in any award, or grant approval for the hosting of any event or ceremony by the group within the National Assembly Complex, Abuja. 3. Any use of the name of the Clerk or Office of the Clerk to the National Assembly in connection with the said group or event is unauthorised and should be disregarded.
” All concerned are advised to take note accordingly.”
